Come Howl for Workers’ Rights on Halloween
Tuesday October 31, 2006 12:00 PM
Downtown Portland Safeway
Tell Safeway to support workers's rights at Blue Diamond Growers.
Workers at Blue Diamond Growers in California—the largest almond processor in the world—have been trying to stop intimidation and harassment by management. They want the company to sign a neutrality agreement with the ILWU so they can exercise their right to organize in an atmosphere free of fear. Come show your solidarity by leafleting and collecting signatures from customers who care about rights in the workplace. Safeway sells lots of Blue Diamond products. Let’s ask it to use its influence as a big customer and write a letter to Blue Diamond supporting the workers’ rights!
What: Solidarity Leafleting for Blue Diamond Workers
Where: The downtown Safeway, 1030 SW Jefferson
When: Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31, Noon – 1pm
Why: Because Portland is a Union Town!
Please bring your enthusiasm and wear a costume if you feel inspired.
