Goodyear workers, on strike since October, need our support. Come leaflet a Goodyear Tire center and support the strike.
The experienced workers at Gooyear Tire have been forced out on strike by the company's demand to gut their healthcare, close factories, and bring more tires in from China and other low-wage courntries. Retired workers at Goodyear, many of whom face illnesses and medical conditions directly realated to their jobs, would soon be left without health care insurance coverage if Goodyear has its way. Right now, Goodyear is using SCABS to make tires sold in America. Studies show that the tires made by scabs during the last big tire strike, at Bridgestone/Firestone, were of lower quality and less safe.
Goodyear has abandoned American workers, retirees, and their communities. Join Steelworker members, other union activists and community friends to protest corporate greed at Goodyear Tire! We will be educating the community about the quality questions inherent in scab-produced tires.
