Stop the War Civil Resistance at Senator Smith's Offices

Tuesday April 10, 2007 12:00 PM

One World Trade Center, 121 SW Salmon St., Portland

People involved in nonviolent civil resistance will risk arrest at all five of Senator Gordon Smith's Oregon Offices.  Demonstrators who support them will gather outside.  Thier message is that it is time to stop funding the Iraq war and bring our troops home.  Here are the plans for all five of Senator Smith's offices:

Portland:  Rally at noon at One World Trade Center, 121 SW Salmon.  People wanting to offer civil resistance and risk arrest will meet under the Hawthorne Bridge at 10:30 am.  Contact 888.435.8173 or troyhorton@centurytel.net.

Bend:  Time TBA at the Jamison Building, 131 NW Hawthorne Ave.

Pendleton:  Time TBA at the Jager Building, 116 S. Main St.  Contact Ben Talley @ 541.310.7909 or bentalley@bmi.net.

Eugene:  Time TBA at the Wayne Morse Federal Courthouse, 405 E. 8th Ave.

Medford:  Time TBA at the Security Plaza, 1175 E. Main.  All those risking arrest will be required to sign a nonviolent pledge.  We will be working with the police and have peace keepers to make sure that the event is nonviolent.  Having supporters who do not risk arrest is critical.

There are many other ways you can help.  Please check out our actions page @ www.defundthewar.com
