WRB hearing on Safe RN Staffing and Collective Bargaining for Legacy NursesA panel from the Portland Area Workers' Rights Board will listen to testimony from Legacy nurses about their struggle for safe levels of staffing in their hospital system. The panel of six WRB members, leaders from diverse parts of the Portland community, will make recommendations for action at the end of the evening.
The panel consists of Rev. Alcena Boozer, rector of St Philip the Deacon Episcopal Church, PSU professor Barbara Dudley, co-chair of the Oregon Working Families Party, Joice Taylor, chair of the N/NE Business Association, State Representative Tina Kotek, Maribeth Healey, Executive Director of Oregonians for Health Security, and Dr Karen Erde of Central City Concern's Old Town Clinic.
When workers have a chance to tell their stories to the community, it is always a powerful experience for them and for the community. Come give these nurses our support as they stand up together for safe patient care.
The Workers' Rights Board is made up of 75 Portland area leaders who are willing to use their moral authority and a little bit of their time to assist workers whose rights are threatened.
