Rally to Support Portland Public Schools Custodians and Nutrition Service Workers
Monday January 28, 2008 6:00 PM
At BESC -- 501 N. Dixon St.
They're still at it: Over 8 months of bargaining and Portland Public Schools is still trying to cut wages by 33%. School district administrators have gone after MESD and now they are going after PPS custodians and food service workers. The 2007 legislature worked hard and delivered the most stable K-12 funding in recent history. Now PPS is asking taxpayers to support a billion dollar construction bond. Before we give them any more-let's make sure they spend what they have responsibly by funding the workforce who keep the schools healthy and safe. School Board Meeting to Follow.
