National Call-in on Social Security and Medicare

National Call-in Day to tell Congress

No Cuts to Social Security!

No Cuts to the Safety Net!

1-866-529-7630

Working Americans across the board oppose cutting Social Security benefits, and they oppose raising the retirement age whether they’re a young worker, a student in college, a retiree, a left-leaning progressive or a Tea Partier.

Incredibly the Co-Chairs of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform seem dead set on deeply cutting Social Security benefits for all Americans.  To stop the Commission from adopting this position, Portland Jobs with Justice is joining the National Call Congress Day this Tuesday, November 30.

On Tuesday, please call Senators Wyden and Merkley at 866-529-7630 and demand that they oppose any cuts to Social Security.  And let them know you oppose the other cuts to our safety net proposed by the Co-Chairs of the deficit commission including cuts to Medicare.   Standing up together, we will ensure that Social Security and a solid safety net will be there for you, your children and your grandchildren.

Make your voice heard on Tuesday, November 30, as part of the National Call Congress Day.  Call Senators Wyden and Merkley at 1-866-529-7630.

Sample Telephone Script -- Hi, I am an Oregon voter and want to leave a message for the Senator.  I want him to vote against any Social Security benefit cuts and to oppose raising the Social Security retirement age.  And I urge the Senator to oppose any cuts to the social safety net such as Medicare!

Get active and join us on Wednesday, December 8, as we take the next steps in the campaign to advance the real concerns of working people -- Jobs Now and Protecting our Safety Net including Social Security, Medicare and unemployment benefits.
