7th Annual Faith and Labor Breakfast-Reclaiming Shared Power

Feb 24, 2009 10:15 AM

Immaculate Heart Parish

2926 N Williams Ave

Please join us for the Seventh Annual Faith-Labor Breakfast from 7:15a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on February 24th at Immaculate Heart Parish 2926 N Williams Ave.  Portland Jobs with Justice Faith-Labor Committee, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, the Northwest Oregon Labor Council and Oregon Farmworker Ministries, invite clergy, lay leaders, and trade union activists to gather for prayer, fellowship and breakfast. Our purpose is simple: to celebrate and build on the long history of our shared values and shared struggles for justice and to continue to build relationships.

Last year, over 100 clergy, labor leaders, union members and other people of faith gathered to explore faith and labor connections from the past, present and possibilities for the future. This year’s breakfast will focus on the concept of power by exploring the necessity of shared power and reclaiming its potential in these economic times for the common good.  As labor unionists and people of faith, we raise our voices for justice.  Let’s share our stories at the breakfast.

We look forward to seeing you February 24th. Please contact Portland Jobs with Justice if you have any questions or want to learn more about our role in helping bring faith community members and labor activists together.

Cost for breakfast is $7 per person.

Please register by February 19th to Portland Jobs with Justice by contacting the office at 503-236-5573 or emailing eliana@jwjpdx.org
