ILRF investigates worker abuses at Oak Harbor Freight
The International Labor Rights Forum released a new report finding that Oak Harbor Freight Lines violated international labor rights standards. This report details the company's premeditated plan to break the union by deliberately provoking a strike and then hiring permanent replacement workers.
The reports also addresses the question of whether or not companies like the Gap and JC Penney are responsible for the behavior of companies in their supply chain. The ILRF found that these companies are violating their own codes of vendor conduct by continuing to doing business with Oak Harbor Freight Lines.
These workers represented by the International Brotherhood of the Teamsters have been on strike for more than 12 weeks.
Come support these workers on the picket line at NE 13th and NE Gertz Road this Thursday, December 4th at 4:00pm.
